My mobile phone doesn't work properly. What should I do?

Question: 

My GSM phone doesn't work properly. What should I do?

Answer: 

Faulty CERN mobile phones should be brought to the Telecom Lab (bldg 600/R-010) for checking.

If a problem is found with your phone:

Whilst the phone is still UNDER WARRANTY: The phone will be sent to be repaired. A replacement phone can be loaned to you if necessary.

Once the phone is OUT OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD: You will have to purchase a new phone. You can do this through EDH.

If no problem is found with your phone:

There may be a problem with your SIM card or even with the CERN mobile network: The Telecom Lab will be pleased to investigate.

If you suspect that there is a problem with one of the mobile networks at CERN (Swisscom or Orange) please notify the Telecom Lab (labo.telecom@cern.ch, tel. 77777).
