Vidyo

 

Vidyo allows users to make point-to-point calls or multipoint videoconference meetings from their desktop machines, tablets and smartphones, H323/SIP equipped meeting rooms and from traditional phone lines. 

It also provides each registered user with:
  • An individual permanent meeting room in which one can invite people to remote meetings
  • A mechanism to plan and create remote meetings attached to an event in Indico, through the Indico interface
  • A way to moderate manage meetings created by the user (mute, call, ban etc.)
  • A way to record remote meetings
  • Plugins for integration with Google Services, MS Outlook and MS Lync

Supported Clients

To participate in a Vidyo meeting, one can use a wide range of clients (provided minimal hardware requirements are fullfilled):

    • Android-based devices

    • iOS devices (iPhones and iPads)

  • H.323/SIP terminals (Tandberg, Polycom, Radvision, Linphone)

  • Phones

Hardware Requirements

  • PC:

    • minimum: PIV 1.6GHz with 1GB ram and 128MB Video Memory

    • recomended: Core 2 Duo 2GHz; 2Gb RAM; 40 Mb free space on HDD

  • Mac:

    • minimum: Mac with Intel Processor; Mac OS X ‘Leopard’ 10.5 or higher; 2GB RAM; 30MB hard drive space

    • latest Firefox/Safari and Apple software updates

  • Mobile:

    • minimum Android v3.0 OR iOS v4.x ARM Cortex A9 1Ghz dual-core Processor 512 MB RAM; Recommended devices: iPAD2, Motorola Xoom, Motorola Atrix and iPhone4

Bandwidth Requirements

  • The minimal bandwidth needed to use the service from the Vidyo client is 128 kbps upstream/downstream
