Skype for Business/Lync installation
Users having a CERN mailbox are automatically activated on Skype for Business (aka Lync). Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you don't have a CERN mailbox and you want to use Lync.

On Windows machines
All centrally managed Windows machines have Skype for Business (aka Lync) installed. Be default Skype for Business is started automatically. If it's not the case then press start and type Lync or Skype for Business to start the application.
To install Skype for Business on a private computer or on a computer that is not at CERN you can buy and install Office 2013. Cf.
On Mac machines
You can install Skype for Business on Mac from "CERN Mac Self service"
E-mail address: it's a SIP address. SIP address is one of your e-mail aliases. If you have a mailbox at CERN then the SIP address is your primary mail address (in most cases email@example.com)
User id: CERN loginname
Password: CERN password.
On Linux machines
There is no Lync client for Linux. We verified that Lync server works with Pidgin for instant messaging and address book (however it's not supported yet). You can install and configure it using the following procedure.
