There are two types of professional subscriptions: RESTRICTED and STANDARD. Please refer to the mobile tariffs web page for related costs.
The table below describes the different services available for each subscription. Please note that there could be extra charges in addition to the subscription fee.
As announced in the CERN bulletin on 7 Oct 2018, the PRIVATE option for CERN mobile telephony subscriptions was withdrawn on the 1st February 2019. All communications are charged to the CERN/Team budget codes.

On 28th Nov 2019, BASIC and BASIC+ subscriptions have automatically been migrated to RESTRICTED. FULL ones have been transformed into STANDARD.
Standard subscriptions include on its monthly fee the calls to Swiss and Neighbours countries while calling from Swisscom or roaming in any of the Neighbours countries. Calls to any other country are charged per minute.
Restricted subscriptions include calls to CERN and local numbers (+4122/+4121/+33450) while connected to Swisscom or while roaming in France. Any other calls are blocked.
Standard subscriptions include mobile data in Switzerland and 1.5GB/month while roaming on Neighbours countries (after the 1.5GB the data consumption will be charged). While roaming outside Neighbours, the data traffic is charged.
Restricted subscriptions include mobile data in Switzerland but there is no data connectivity abroad.
The new tariffs for mobile data have dramatically decreased worldwide.
Voice calls outside Neighbours countries have on the other hand become more expensive, both from Switzerland and on roaming.
It is highly recommended to use CERN landlines when calling abroad and/or to use data calls with a softphone solution such as Skype for Business (and soon CERN Phone App) that enables you to use your landline number on your mobile phone. Even while roaming, softphone calls are much cheaper than mobile ones and allow you to have a single phone number for your contacts - your landline one.
