As a Data Centre Software Technical Engineer in the Fabric (FA) Group, your main activities will be to:

• Maintain existing, in-house developed hardware and power distribution unit monitoring systems and assure software integration of these with environment monitoring, cooling and ventilation monitoring systems, inventory management as well as power distribution systems provided by different Departments.
• Manage and evolve the existing automated workflows used for Data Centre Hardware Lifecycle Management and their integration with the existing inventory management system.
• Analyse user requirements and recommend appropriate software solutions.
• Develop, integrate and test software used in daily Data Centre operations.
• Participate in the definition of operational workflows and propose automation.
• Maintain existing software and monitoring services and assure future evolution.
• Maintain and extend existing software integrations.

We are looking for someone with the following demonstrated experience/skills:

• In-depth knowledge of programming techniques and languages: Python, C, shell scripting.
• Software development and systems integration.
• Service deployment, operation and configuration management.
• Installation, configuration and administration of computing systems running Linux: RedHat Enterprise Linux or compatible.
• Computing hardware: servers and storage.
• System configuration and container deployment tools, cloud computing platforms: Puppet, Kubernetes, OpenStack.

Additional experience/skills in the following areas would be an asset:

• Relational databases: MySQL
• Data visualization tools: Grafana
