As a Computer Systems Technical Engineer in the Storage and Data Management (SD) Group, you will:

• Participate in the service operation and deployment of the large-scale, geographically distributed disk and tape storage systems.
• Contribute to documentation, development, optimization and further automation of storage services.
• Contribute to the evolution of architecture and design of disk and tape storage services.
• Participate in the support effort provided by the group (user support and incident response), including the participation to on-call duties.
• Liaise with key stakeholders inside and outside of the IT department.

We are looking for someone with the following profile, demonstrated experience and technical skills:

• Operation of large-scale production deployments, preferably distributed storage solutions.
• Linux system administration and solid programming experience in Python and shell.
• Understanding and tuning distributed systems based on complex logging data.
• Design and architecture of large-scale distributed storage services.
• Linux environment, in particular the I/O and networking subsystems and general Linux system administration.
• Physical, virtual and container-based infrastructure management.
• Logging, Monitoring, Configuration management, CI/CD.
• Automation and Scripting (Bash, Python).
• Keen ability to undertake new challenges and learn new skills in disk and tape technologies.
• Solid team member, actively contributing and sharing knowledge.

Additional experience/skills in the following areas would be an asset:

• Understanding of C++ source code, stack traces and debugging.
