As a DevOps Technical Engineer in IT-PW-WA, you will be responsible for the maintenance and infrastructure evolution for the authoring, collaboration, issue tracking and web analytics tools used by ~20000 users, such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence, Twiki, GitLab Pages, Google Workspace and Matomo.
In particular, you will:
- Deploy and configure the in-house hosted instances of these products while ensuring their smooth integration within the CERN's technical environment (OpenShift/Kubernetes, OpenStack, Single Sign On)
- Ensure that the deployment model is aligned with the technical evolutions of CERN's infrastructure and the internal recommendations
- Keep the products up to date, apply the necessary security patches and risk mitigation strategies as required by the CERN security team
- Ensure that the services have adequate backup and recovery strategies
- Ensure that an appropriate level of automation and monitoring is in place
- Provide technical expertise and consulting to the users, communicate service changes and evolution
- Contribute to the vision for future technical improvements and service operation optimizations
We are looking for someone with the following profile, demonstrated experience and technical skills:
- Operating and optimizing large-scale, mission-critical production services
- In-depth knowledge of DevOps: proficiency with Git, CI/CD tools, automation and deployment
- Experience with Kubernetes container orchestration
- Experience with helm charts
- Knowledge of Bash, Golang, Python
- Dealing with user relations, user support, and user requirements definition
