Ensure coherent design, development, operation and evolution of storage and data management services at CERN for all aspects of physics, user and project data and general needs of the Laboratory.

The group supports data recording, archival and storage for the LHC experiments and the small and medium experiments of the entire accelerator complex;  data and software distribution services for the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid; cloud storage for users of Windows, Mac and Linux systems and mobile devices; filesystems, object and block storage for cloud & computing platforms and infrastructure services in the data centre; backup services.

Tape, Archives and Backups (IT-SC-TAB)
